For a seafood restaurant in the mountains of Georgia, it was very good. The shrimp was fried correctly and served fresh out of the fryer. The steak fries were crisp with tender insides.

We actually stopped here on a whim on the way back home because it was the only restaurant in town where the parking lot was packed. The food was not bad, but it was far from 5 star. I'd actually give it 3 in a regular city, but for the area, I'll be generous, because there truly isn't much else around.

The seafood that we had was fresh and well cooked, the problem was with seasoning and battering. There was zero seasoning in the tempura batter for the fried fish -- I guess you were supposed to get all the flavor from tartar sauce, which I despise. There wasn't even a touch of salt. It was bland city. The tempura was thick and over-browned, not light and airy. The hand-battered stuff was worse. It at least had seasoning, but it was stodgy and stiff and was a bit like a beginning cook's first attempt at fried chicken. The seafood itself was cooked perfectly to temperature though, I have no complaints with that and the serving sizes of the fish were enormous. The shrimp serving was the typical six shrimp.

The fries that came with it were soggy and limp and what the heck was with the raw red onion? Who eats raw onion with anything? The side of coleslaw came in a ramekin that is normally used to serve ketchup or tartar sauce --- can you say tiny sides?-- but it did taste good. The pickles served with the fish and chips were yummy. I enjoyed them.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the fresh oysters on the half shell, though they could have been cleaned a bit better.

Our server, Brianna, was a joy and the service was quick and the food hot and well cooked even though the place was packed, though, I think probably a little over-priced. Not much, just a bit. I thought our dinner was worth $60, but our bill was $80.

If you try the place out I'd avoid anything breaded if you can, though that might be difficult.

One final note. As we left, the place was closing, the tables all but empty and I noticed... the parking lot was still full... Hmmm?

The sweet tea hurt my stomach instantly, the seafood bucket was not cooked all the way, after eating and drinking the tea I returned to my hotel to throw up, turn pale and lips purple. As if I had been poisoned. I will never eat here again and hope no experiences the same thing.
